Everything has a beginning

Since the day Ada asked if we could build a Wall-E robot back in November 2018, I have been interested in learning about electronics, IoT and new programming languages.

As a software developer and solutions architect for over twenty years I have seen the birth of the internet, the continual miniaturisation of components and the expansion of languages and the rise and falls of many standards.

Physical computing is a perfect challenge for me as it combines all of the knowledge I have acquired. My rusty old A-Level electronics knowledge, my love of making things out of cardboard and other recycled material, my knowledge of computer programming languages, and the internet and the standards around it.

Making an object that moves and reacts is more satisfying than on-screen programming. It is my believe that this makes technology more accessible and fun for children - like Ada.
